This is my entry for the SAINW contest. That is going on I am pretty happy about it.
Don felt terrible about what has happened to his family and friends since his alleged disappearance and was crushed by this older Mikey's accusation that he had abandoned them all; this is probably what drove him to fight the Shredder no matter what. This will haunt Donatello for the rest of his life not knowing what happened to his other self, fearing that he had abandoned everyone he loves.
